MISSING PIECE (11)
He opened his eyes. Where am I? The place was familiar. He’d been here before. And who was that strange man that time? How come he was here now? He tried to raise his right hand a bit but it was tedious. His body was in excruciating pains. He saw a woman dressed in white, writing something on a notepad.
“Ahh! Thank God”, the woman said, “Can you hear me?”
He nodded slowly. “Where….where am I?”, he asked with great difficulty.
“Shh! Don’t overwork yourself for now. You are in the hospital, you’ve been out for two weeks. You were rushed here by a friend of yours, I suppose. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine”, the doctor explained.
Where…..is…..is……”
“It’s okay. You’ll be fine”, the doctor said. He kept his calm. It was frustrating to want to say something and you couldn’t. He wanted to ask about his wife and kids. Where were they? And who was this supposed ‘friend’?

She walked elegantly into the hotel, eyes following her as she did. She loved the attention.
“Good afternoon, ma”, the receptionist greeted.
“Good afternoon. I’m here to see someone. He’s in Room 308.”
