DOGOPHOBIA (9 & 10)

I could not write anything at all yesterday (Saturday), so, I’d be writing both episodes together. The joy I had in telling you all about my book being published and getting everything ready, was so much I forgot to drop an episode. Sorry, you hear?

Nothing much happened yesterday. Well, apart from the Ohwo soup we cooked at home after watching YouTube videos (😂😂😂 I know what you’re thinking; first, it was for sharwama, and now, it is for soup.) Ohwo soup is a local delicacy of Deltans (especially the Urhobos) and Edosians. Actually, Delta and Edo people have been dragging who exactly have the soup. Both sides habe different ways of cooking the soup. Anyhow you cook it and it’s sweet, I will eat it. Keep dragging ooo! 😂)

I know how some of my Yoruba friends react when I tell them I ate Ohwo soup (because it actually sounds the way we say ‘owo’ in Yoruba and this means money. So, to them, it sounds like i ate ‘money soup’. My liver ooo😂😂)

The soup came out well and sweeeeeeet! Thanks for asking.

I have not washed clothes oo. Now that Doggie is in front of the house, it’s either I see it when I’m going out or I hear it barking at someone else.

Today (Sunday) as I was going to church, Doggie was lying on the floor. I just stretched my neck to look at it and said “Hello” in a whisper like Isy said.

It kept looking at me at me like one pregnant dog.Actually, I don’t know what a pregnant dog is like ooo. Rosemary, where are you? Come and do dog education . Do dogs have bulging stomachs like goats when pregnant?

Doggie is a male dog ooo. It doesn’t look like a female. Its barking is very deep and ferocious. Abi, how do you know a male from a female dog? If you know, tell me ooo. Let me not disgrace my generation outside. Thank you.

And you should know, Doggie does not bark at me anymore. We are making progress abi? If nobody greet me on this achievement, I will greet myself.

“Temitope, welldone. It’s not easy.”

I will rest on this achievement first before I move to another one, biko.

I came back from church but the hunger that I was feeling did not even make me  remember Doggie. After eating, guess what? I slept off, still wearing my church clothes. The matter strong, my brother.

That said, tomorrow is the last day of August. How did the month go for you? Are you prepared for September? I am more than ready! There are so much activities already outlined for the new month, my book being one of them. My body is just doing gish gish gish.

I’ll see ya on Monday!

(To be continued)
