YOU'VE GOT THIS!!

Hey, friends.
Welcome to July, the beginning of the second half of the year. Get ready to win! It is indeed the month of Joy.
Sometime last month (June 2022), I took the decision to be very mindful of the things I eat and HOW I eat them. I chose to be quite mindful of my health, especially about losing weight.
I used to never really concern myself about my weight mostly because I thought Lagos life was enough stress to ‘help me’ reduce. And it was working…..or so I thought. I have studied my body so well that I know when I am really stressed or worried, I begin to lose weight. If, on the other hand, I am not stressed, don’t worry about anything and sleep well, trust me, I’ll begin to add weight.
But I began to add weight in recent times, despite Lagos and work stress. It was so bad that I would be breathing heavily while walking. That bad? Yes, it was.
I decided to cut down on a lot of things I eat and that includes bread (If you know me, you know I looooove bread but I had to let it go🥺🥺). I had to stop the idea of eating when when I’m hungry (which ends up with me over eating most of the time) and so many other decisions I ordinarily would never have thought I’d do.
Ohhh, it was a hard decision, trust me. It still is. But I just had to do it. I haven’t stopped eating bread completely ooo, I won’t lie. But I have reduced intake to twice a week. I’ve drastically reduced intake of soda drinks (I really can’t remember the last time I took one).
I have also been exercising a lot (see some of my pictures and videos attached below) and trust me, it has been a slow and worthwhile journey. I don’t feel heavy like I used to, I don’t breathe too hard for short distances I take and I can turn down food I normally would not be able to.
Why am I sharing all these with you? Well, first of all, it helps with my accountability. Secondly, because I want you to know that this new month is an opportunity for you to do more, IF only you’re ready to let go of some things. Yes, some things would not change if you don’t make critical decisions.
Yes, it might seem slow, might seem difficult but it is not impossible. Sit back and do a critical review of the choices you’ve made so far. Are they worthwhile? Are there things you need to change moving forward? Are there things you need to keep on doing?
Asking yourself these questions and giving your honest-to-God answers to them would help you move forward into the second half clearheaded and consistent with your goals.
I wish you the best this month! Cheers!
